Ladakh-based birding and wildlife guide
Mohd Tanveer (Arhaan) is a Ladakh-based birding and wildlife guide with over five years of hands-on experience in wildlife photography and five years as a naturalist in the high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh. He has extensively explored the region’s wetlands, alpine meadows, river valleys, and trans-Himalayan terrain, documenting a wide range of bird and wildlife species unique to the area.
With a strong background in photojournalism, Tanveer has worked with reputed national and international news agencies including Agence France-Presse (AFP), PTI, IANS, and ANI, and has completed a one-year internship with AFP and Gulistan News Channel. This experience has sharpened his skills in observation, documentation, and ethical wildlife practices.
He is credited with the first photographic record of Meadow Pipit from Ladakh, reflecting his keen eye for identification and dedication to field research. As a guide, he combines local ecological knowledge with patience and professionalism, making him well-suited for birdwatchers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts seeking an authentic Ladakh experience.
Born and raised in Ladakh, Tanveer brings deep local insight into seasonal bird movements, habitats, and conservation-sensitive guiding. He has also represented Jammu & Kashmir three times in archery, a discipline that reflects his focus, endurance, and calm approach in the field.
