Welcome to the Elite Expedition India photography gallery, where we share photographs from the high mountains, remote valleys, wildlife habitats and villages of Ladakh and the Himalaya. Every photograph tells a story of the places, people, wildlife and landscapes that we experience during our journeys.
I am Rashid, a local guide and photographer from Ladakh, and together with our experienced team of wildlife naturalists, photographers and local guides, I spend a great deal of time in the field. Our work takes us deep into the mountains to photograph snow leopards, Pallas's cats, Himalayan wolves, Eurasian lynx, Himalayan brown bears, birds and other wildlife, as well as the people and traditional communities who call these remote Himalayan valleys home.
Our photography is not limited to wildlife. We also specialise in Ladakh people photography, cultural photography, portrait photography, ethnic communities, monastery photography, village life and Himalayan landscape photography. We spend time with local families, monks, nomadic communities and people living in remote mountain villages, allowing our guests to experience and photograph Ladakh in a respectful and meaningful way.

All the photographs in this gallery are made during our own expeditions and photography tours. We know the landscapes, wildlife habitats, villages and seasons because we live and work here. Our local knowledge helps us understand where and when to look for wildlife, how animals behave, which valleys offer the best light and how to approach people and communities respectfully.
For wildlife photography, our experienced naturalists and spotters spend long hours in the field searching for animals and understanding their movements. From the snow leopard valleys of Ladakh to the remote high-altitude plains of Changthang, our team knows the terrain and works patiently to create responsible wildlife photography opportunities.
For cultural and people photography, our local connections are equally important. We believe the best photographs often come when there is trust between the photographer and the person being photographed. Our tours give photographers opportunities to meet local families, nomads, monks, artisans and communities while learning about their traditions and everyday lives.
