1. The Snow Leopard

We call this beautiful cat the "Ghost of the Mountains." It is the king of the high ridges. It has a long, thick tail that helps it keep balance on steep cliffs. The best time to see the snow leopard is from November to April when they come down to the valleys looking for food and mates.

2. The Eurasian Lynx

The Lynx is a medium-sized cat with long legs and iconic black tufts on its ears. It is incredibly sharp and fast. The Lynx loves to hide on steep, rocky slopes called scree. Finding a Lynx requires a lot of patience and expert local tracking tracking skills.

3. The Pallas’s Cat

This is the fluffiest cat in the world! It is small, round, and has short legs. It lives in the flat, cold plains of the Changthang region. Because it is small and grey, it looks exactly like a rock when it sits still.

Why You Should See All Three Cats in One Epic Journey ?

Travelling to Ladakh from outside India takes days of flights, heavy travel hassle and expensive plane tickets. Since you are investing so much money and time to come all the way to this remote paradise of the Himalaya, it does not make sense to visit three separate times to see each animal. Every single trip requires you to spend days sitting in Leh just to acclimatize to the high altitude, meaning you waste precious holiday time and triple your travel expenses. Seeing the Snow Leopard, Eurasian Lynx, and Pallas’s Cat is a true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. By booking our complete Ladakh Three Wild Cat Expedition, you can track all three elusive cats in a single, perfectly planned tour. Let Elite Expedition India handle all your logistics so you can save your time, avoid repeating the hard altitude adjustment and save thousands of dollars in flight costs.
